CAHP Foundation Scholarships

One of the goals of the CAHP Foundation is to provide financial assistance to the financially-dependent, college-age children of a qualified California Highway Patrol officer and, specific to the one of the scholarships, the financially-dependent, college-age children of any active, retired or deceased California peace officer. By making these grants available, the Foundation strives to encourage college-age law enforcement dependents to pursue academic programs at post-secondary educational institutions.

CAHP Widows and Orphans’ Trust Fund

The CAHP Widows and Orphans’ Trust Fund is dedicated to assisting families of California Highway Patrol officers in the event they die, regardless of cause. (The benefit is higher for those killed in the line of duty.) The CAHP takes pride in its history of immediate action in dispersing this benefit as soon as notification of the death is made to staff. This is most beneficial to survivors in assisting with the cost of the funeral. In the event of a death there is a potential benefit from the Widows and Orphans’ Trust Fund of $2,400.

Remembering CHP’s Finest

Since the California Highway Patrol was formed in August 1929, 228 officers have been killed on the job.

We are humbled by the strength of character and pride that each of these officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice possessed, and find ourselves inspired by the lives they led. They will never be forgotten.
